Rita Murphy-McLean
Author. Advocate. Creator.
Rita Murphy-McLean created puberty parties to remove the fear out of puberty and replace it with excitement, fun and educational learning.
Years later that same heart and mission became The Kingdom of Pubertatem: a fantasy adventure that empowers girls to embrace change and remove fear.
My Story: How It All Began
The Dreaded movie
In 5th grade, my daughter and her friend were dreading the puberty movie" at school. I knew there had to be a better way.
A New Idea
As the leader of Hallelujah Harvest at my church, I decided to turn puberty education into a celebration with eduational games, cake, music and fun.
The Party made a difference
Parents pitched in because they didn't know how they would start the conversation. Girls studied on their own because they wanted to win prizes.
The Impact
The school nurse said, "I knew exactly which girls went to your puberty party" Mothers and daughters grew close, and girls called later to say they started and weren't scared.
a mission that grew
What started in my living room became a puberty party movement to make puberty a positive empowering experience for every girl.
“I want every girl to remember puberty as a celebration instead of something to fear.”

Why I Wrote
The Kingdom of Pubertatem
There are many nonfiction books and school lessons about puberty, but I wanted to create something different - a fantasy adventure where girls see themselves as the heroine of the story.
Kingdom of Pubertatem is more than a book - it's an experience.

Beyond the Kingdom
The Kingdom doesn't end when the story does.
Step inside the interactive world where every adventure helps girls grow in knowledge, confidence, and courage.
Whether you're a girl beginning the journey or an adult guiding the way, there's a place for you in the Kingdom.
